A great episode this week focusing on Tadase and his desire to become stronger. It covers the chapter where Tadase listens to the wishing CD and instead gets brainwashed. Amu then convinces him (of course in her Amulet Heart form) that he is strong and then he charanaris into his gay looking Platina Royal poofy outfit. Also at the end they showed Utau as if like we had no idea that she was the one who was singing these songs lol. Oh well great episode anyway. In other news, Shugo Chara volume 7 is coming July 18th so I’ll be stalking Kinokuniya for it then.

Upcoming Attractions: Rima tells her parents to f*** off.

It’s amazing what 1 volume of manga can do to a story and the characters. While in vol. 9 I wanted to kick Yusuke in the balls, in vol. 10 I wanted to give the poor guy a hug.

And instead I wanted to kick Koushi in the balls, but he got what he deserved (and Momoko too while we’re at it) so actually it was a pretty satisfying volume as far as story is concerned. It looks like we’re finally moving forward and perhaps the story will end in the next 2-3 books (cause frankly I’m tired of spending $8 on it everytime a new one comes out xDDD) Continue Reading »

Just like Aroduc my old school fire is burning with delight the moment I heard Megumi Hayashibara voicing our orange haired heroine. I’m not covering Sekitits or Mahou Tsukai because I disliked both (as I pretty much expected.) The entire point of this post is to completely refute and break down the argument of Scott’s post. Despite what he wants to think, he’s a Greg fanboy and I think nearly all the arguments Greg brings up are a ridiculous pile of shit. What makes it worse is while I do think the idea of “100% pirating is bad”, he acts like some religious cult leader that will make you jump off a cliff if you dare download a fansub (and of a show that isn’t even licensed in the US.) There are better ways to present his topic and better ways to support the industry but he’s stuck in his stupid DVD-buying era like a horse withblinders on its head. I bet that doesn’t sound as weird when you say “Nakishoujo no tame Pavannu” Anyway apparently it’s Koge Donbo’s new work. I saw it on her blog entry this afternoon. I’ve yet to obtain the last volume of Kamichama Karin but I have to admit something sad: I’m just not looking forward to this work. First of all she mentions that there are 12 girls (and 1 main character. It’s like a harem setting already and those never work out too well. The other problem I’m having is the characters pictured here look like Karin & Kazune clones. I mean I realize it’s the same artist, but why create 13 characters that are just rehashes of your previous works? (Geez Misaki - with the bunny hairbands is a freaking Misha clone =_=)

It reminds me of my general disappointment with Tanemura Arina as well. I know she has some 3 chapter thing out but that’s just the last drop before she’s taking a long overdue break. I used to blindly buy manga because I liked the artwork but then the story ended up sucking ass. So anyone out there have their interest piqued by this? I think I’m going to have to pass. I’m selling more manga to BookOff than I’m buying these days anyway.
